I like it much better this way
Posted by Picasa

Bright yellow plastic for an Acroyear? I can't abide by that.

I'm calling this modified zoid vehicle the Scorpitroid
Posted by Picasa

I ripped out the legs and gears, greebled the sides with junk and sheet styrene, mounted the turbines and there you go
Posted by Picasa

Scorpitroid Commander's head is from a Mcfarlane Frankenstein playset with an SG helmet and a Beta Midget chest plate on a black Military Force
Posted by Picasa

I got this arm from a Robotech kit and decided that it should be the Scorpitroid commander's weapon
Posted by Picasa

Here you can see how the turbines connect to the main body of the vehicle. Basically I just ran some 5mm stryene tubing through the back, added another bit of rubber tubing to 'fatten' it and covered.
Posted by Picasa

These square pieces were taken from a Gundam kit and greebled with Wav Option vents to make covers for the turbine mounts
Posted by Picasa

The turbines are from a microman rescue series vehicle, as I mentioned earlier

The Scorpitroid's original form is the Zoid Deathpion, which I picked up two years ago thinking that one day I'd do something with it...

Back view. It's actually quite sturdy sitting on that ball joint.
Posted by Picasa

Rear top view. The part in the middle of the thruster is actually a chest piece from some cheap robot I had lying around
Posted by Picasa

Once I had all the parts together, this took about 2 months

here's a bit of up-close detail
Posted by Picasa

I tried taking pictures of this thing, but it was tough to capture on film...I wish I knew something about photography

Seek and destroy

Acroyear Bounty Hunter with updated head
Posted by Picasa

This Palisades Pharoid still has to be one of my favorite Microman
Posted by Picasa

I was pretty psyched when I scored this Robotman II helmet (with a few other parts)
Posted by Picasa

The wings are from the Soul of Chogokin Dancougar.
Posted by Picasa

Another view. Again, It's not perfect, but he looks cool with wings!
Posted by Picasa

I took this hollow piece from a Gundam kit and boxed it in with sheet styrene, which was first glued and then trimmed/sanded. Easy!
Posted by Picasa

Here's a tip for you: If you don't want something to stick to the putty you are molding, make it wet. It won't stick. I needed to do that here in order to make the holes that would hold the wings
Posted by Picasa

You can see the space between the torso and the waist. The Waifer Leaf part didn't fit that well so I had to modify it a bit and was left with the space. I could've gone in a redone it, but I thought it was ok. He needs the space for posing purposes anyway.

The hands came from Machine Force. I think I made the wrist a little too long, but I can live with it. The wrist part was made from sheet styrene and putty, basically.

This guy now dominates my top shelf
Posted by Picasa

A new custom lurking in my garden...
Posted by Picasa

The head is from maybe a Sailor Moon gasshapon toy, the stickers from an old Robotech plastic model kit, the gun is Lucas
Posted by Picasa

Here you can see the tatoos on her leg and arm
Posted by Picasa

Not super rare stuff, but some of my rarest Micro toys
Posted by Picasa

I just liked this picture so I thought I'd post it. One of my favorite vintage vehicles here
Posted by Picasa

The Micro Range Finder. This was a busted up Climbleader which I found. It didn't have treads, so I replace the section with a set of tracks I found on a Transformer tractor. Later, I added the Zoid radar dish. I'd still like to do some work on this one, but here's a look anyway

Another view

Originally I thought I'd 'do this up', but I like the original colors, esp. with the kicker. I think I'll leave it like this.

Can't say I like the new vehicles much, but I think I might try to make something along these lines. Some kind of Photon Sled II or something.
